I'd have put this on the beginners messages, but I think this is more about discussing my new baritone. If it needs to be moved, please do so!
I've been kinda busy, what with falling in love with my new musical instrument and all...and getting right into doing something with it, even though I didn't know how! So, I jumped in with both feet, er, actually, with both hands and tried to get started doing something, even if it was wrong! I've been cruising the web, looking at loads of U-tube stuff and different forums and strumming patterns and picking patterns and chords, oh my! It's like learning a foreign language.
I'm lovin it and havin a great time with it so far! "It" being my Cordoba 20BM baritone ukulele. It sounds great to me and both my music teachers. I've got the one at the senior action center me and Dad go to and I've got one locally down in Easley as well. I don't know if having more than one teacher is a good idea, but I figure, 'sink or swim'!
I reckon I'm doing something right 'cause I feel like I'm learning, anyway. I don't know if I'm learning in the right progression, but it seems o.k. 'cause I'm starting to be able to put things together. Also, the teacher in Easley is starting me off on reading music by memorizing the chords by letter alone, not by the pictures of where on the fret to place your fingers way. He's starting me on two chords songs and sez that I need to learn to 'smoothly' shift between these two chords first, and then he'll up me to three chord songs.
So, if you guys wanna put in your:2cents: I'd appreciate it!
Hope everyone has a happy fourth!
