That's free bass, not free base! someone gave this to me many moons ago and it has sat in my shed. It is an Asian no name import with a badly bowed neck and metal rust and cheap tuners [one missing] I was going to toss it but then thought someone might want the parts. I plugged it in and the pickup worked, though the volume knob had to be turned all the way up and it had a lot of static from the knob. Free, just pay shipping, and it is heavy so that might be more than it's worth. would also be happy to unbolt the neck and just send the body, that would save $. or just gut it and send whatever parts you wanted.

I was once given a bass guitar with a chronically bowed neck.
While I waited to decide what I was going to do with it, I laid
it 'face down' (strings down) on a wooden floor and stood my
60 watt Combo Amplifier on it (having loosened off the strings
first).Forgot about it for a month and when I next looked, the
neck was straight!
Played it for a while, decided that Bass was not for me, and
passed it on to someone who cared!

Goodwill it. Someone will love getting it to mess with. :)

Hey there,

My name is Dennis and I am from Chicago. I'd happily take that bass off of your hands if the shipping is reasonable. Any chance you'd have an estimate? I am in zip code 60439.
