I've wanted a low g string on my uke for a while, mainly for my arrangements of songs. I have a set of Aquila soprano (low g) strings. Would I be able to throw that soprano string of my concert uke? Or does anyone know of any other companies that make low g unwound yet? I'd really really would appreciate your feedback.

Thanks in advance
Annemarie

If the strings are long enough you could give it a go, at least for the low G string.
(Soprano strings on a concert could have an effect on the sound, you might be interested in reading this.)

I don't know if Ken Middleton has any plans of offering a low G concert set of his Living Water Strings in the near future (he has a tenor one on sale already) - might be worth looking at this thread in the forum.

I believe that individual Aquila low g strings are available, not sure about unwound, but I think they are.
with some string companies, the soprano/concert strings are the same thickness.
