This song was made popular by the Irish band "The Dubliners" and many think it's an Irish song but it's actually English in origin. The version the Dubliners used was collected from Sam Larner of Norfolk, England.



It was overplayed in the past and fell out of favour. However, it's a great song for a pub singaround with a chorus folk love to join in and it's starting to be sung again.
