Is it safe to hang them like that? I guess ukuleles, especially sopranos are not very heavy, but the tuners are not that sturdy or are they?

All of those have lasted a LONG time w/probably less care than he gives them. And I have to agree w/Stan... they are wonderfully addicting.

Nope, they're always like that. He's got a lot of YouTube vids with that shelf of Martins in the background. I had always assumed before now they were on hangers. Here he is with Gus and Fin of GUGUG:
