Quick Pick up install!

Now I want to try this on my old concert.

This is pretty neat and it only takes "20 mins"

sorry messed up on the title it is PICK UP INSTALL

That video is very well put together and a bit more professional than the one in the link below. On a whim I did a Youtube search for Ukulele Construction last night and came across this video by Uncle Dave on pickup installation. Imagine how surprised I was to be watching and then all the sudden hear my name. I almost fell out of my chair ;). It happens at the 5:10 mark. It was pretty trippy.

when i ripped the pickup out of my old guitar and installed it into my Hilo baritone, i used this 20 min video. haha. when i first start something, i really take my time and make sure all measurements are good. instead of just 20 minutes, it took me 3 hours.

then i installed the bushman pickup in bugoy's uke. that one still took me about an hour.

but the directions are very easy to follow. and its all very simple. its just making sure you dont cut too big of a hole is what is time consuming hahaha.

where do u go to get the internal pick up? i don't think any of the music stores here will have anything good, they dont even carry decent ukulele string around my area.

i was able to find this i dont know how well it would work with a ukulele maybe the pin will be too long. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Martin-Thinline-332-Acoustic-Guitar-Pickup?sku=300251

if its 60 bucks tho i think i'd jus buy a pre-installed pick up uke or sumtin instead of putting the work into installing one.

that pickup would be very easy to install. im actually leaning more toward passive pickups and going with an external pre-amp. ive been reading up on some of the units out and it looks very interesting.

as far as that particular pickup, it has gotten some mixed reviews. the only really bad one, however, was from one person that lost some of the acoustic quality of his martin guitar. the rest seem to be pretty happy with it. and it seems that they have amps that have at least a three band EQ.

the advantage to being able to install your own pickup is being able to choose what kind of setup you would like...
passive or active?
onboard pre-amp or external?
brand preference

but honestly, getting this far into it is IMO only extremely important if you are planning on performing.
