Is it just me or is this photo odd? What does that tuner go to and why is it right in the middle of a marked fret?

The 4 top strings go up to the headstock, the 5th string goes down to a Redneck with 3 teeth.

Ah, so if you were to extend the picture, the headstock would be on the left rather than the right? I was assuming the headstock was on the right.

That's correct. The capo is on the 3rd fret.
