Hi guys

A buddy has an SS Stewart Banjo - possibly a Favorite No 1 or piccolo - short scale banjo - that they are thinking of selling ...... and I am a possible buyer!! Never having played a banjo before I am not aware of banjo prices...... even tho it is an older one (possible mid 1890s) it was one of the more basic ones that SS Stewart made.

Can anyone give me a guestimate on a valuation? It is in reasonable nick but doesn't have a case.

Many thanks

Roberta

I found a thread on the web where someone bought one for $ 375. That one had friction tuners. On Ebay there's a real fancy one for $ 799, but it looks like a much higher end model. Try him at $ 350 ?

Thanks Big Kahuna - yes, I think it was the 'lower end of the scale' back in the old days, compared to some with all the fancy fretwork & stuff!
