Ran across this today...

Maybe a stupid question here....but can anyone explain to me the $200+ price tag? Seems like there are similar solid wood ukes out there that are already assembled and set up that go for around this much. I've seen solid acacia wood ukes for around this much.

Hi! I was just browsing thru the forum and came across this- has anyone from UU built the soprano koa wood kit? If so, is the end result a nice playing instrument?
Thanks!!!

The wood alone, especially the koa, is worth the price of the kit. It looks like much of the hard work is already done though and I'd have no problem recommending such a kit to the first time builder.
How it turns out will be all in the hands of the builder. It's much like pointing to a stack of wood and asking if it would make a good house.
