How to Hammer on/off on 0?

I have come across 0 hammer 0. How does one hammer off nothing? That doesn't make sense to me.....
 
Typographical error ? Or ,............. tune string up and down with the tuner ??

There are some guitars that actually have a 0 fret -- in those cases, the nut is not where the strings bend to begin the scale, but is just behind the Zero fret.

It still makes no sense, but perhaps whatever you are looking at is referencing that sort of thing?
 
Can you post a link to the particular piece ?
 
I'm betting somebody ran the tab through a transposer from another instrument or tuning and the transposer wasn't smart enough to detect the impossibility of hammering on 0. (You can pull off to zero, obviously, though it requires a bit of finesses as you can't modulate the volume and sustain of the pull off the way you can when you have a finger down for the pulled-off pitch.)
