Here's a link to my review of Ian Whitcomb's new book Ukulele Heroes: The Golden Age.
In short, this is a terrific book. Easy to read, lots of information, color artwork throughout. It's not a music book or how-to. Rather, it tells the story of several ukulele pioneers (if you will) and how they managed to bring the ukulele to the masses.
Ukulele Heroes provides a solid overview of these people without digging too deep into the details. There are other books for that. I don't want to spoil the ending, but I can tell you this---the ukulele wins!
