After a lot of searching I've finally managed to get my hands on a George Formby Model, Dallas B, Banjouke! It plays really well after some restoration work and TLC. I was wondering if anybody on here knows how to go about dating these instruments?

The number on the back of the headstock is B/1052. I've done some digging myself online and although they're discussed and mentioned there's no real info that I can find re. manufacture dates etc.

Thanks.

Sending flowers helps. Or buying it a drink. Sometimes simply asking "Would you like to have dinner with me?" works.

Good luck on your dating it. Hope you post a video of when I am cleaning windows on it. Great score! Formby was a master.

Seems like every "dating" post turns in this direction.

ps, did you acquire the uke from "Match.com" ?

If you've exhausted the online route, I would try contacting the George Formby Society - some knowledgeable banjo-uke folk among the stalwarts there.....

I think that's illegal in several states...
