Is there any way of offering the option to have the date appear correctly, ie DD/MM/YYYY, in posts ?

To most of us in the US, "correctly" is MM/DD/YY or MM/DD/YYYY. On the other hand, I'd prefer it if the clock had a 24 hour setting option, rather than just AM/ PM.
