strings

In my experience, the GHS ones are pretty dead sounding without being in any way mellow, and the Aquilas are much brighter and sparklier sounding, and feel better under my fingers.

its up to you wut sounds the best. u have to experiment! i like high tension D'Addario's! mellow but still a little bright.

ill second this choice. Ive found that im most happy with D'Addario strings.

I am liking the D'addarios on my cedar top mellows some of the pop. But for my mahogony laminate I keep rocking the aquila's to brighten the sound.

So I suppose the sting choice boils down to the sound your looking for and the qualitys of the instrument your working with.

good luck

GHS strings - nylon and inexpensive, does not have sustain
Aquila - Nylgut, synthetic strings, longer sustain and cost a tad more than GHS

I can't wait to get my D'Addario strings from my Ukulele teacher on Nov. 19th. I know that I will be satisfied with high tension strings!

NICE! yeah i go with high tension cuz i hate having long nails! i just barely skim the string and a nice mellow tone is produced! ahhhhhhhh!
