View Full Version : Roland Microcube Question

Hi. I just got a Shadow undersaddle pickup, LR Baggs Gigpro and a Roland Microcube. The low end booms a bit and I am trying to tweek it down.

Which setting on the Microcube works best for the uke. There is a mic setting and an acoustic setting (which I think is to make an electric guitar sound acoustic)?

Thanks in advance for the help.

The acoustic setting is actually not designed for acoustic instruments. It's to plug in an electric guitar, and attempt to sound a bit acoustic.
I find that an actual uke plugged into the acoustic setting sounds ultra-thin and overly percussive.

I find that the Mic setting works best. Turn the gain down to zero.
Adjust the Tone as preferred (generally I put it at around 10 or 11 o'clock).
Tiny bit of reverb doesn't hurt.

If you have some good pre-amp devices, you can even plug it into the Microcube's Aux input jack on the back, and control the tone and volume entirely externally.

Second the "Mic" input, works best for me too.
