ok....None. I haven't drank the mya moe kool-aid yet:)

But I did like Gmoney's myamoe pineapple.
I also am starting to like the look of the ones that have the same wood colors on headstock as the body.

I'm really liking the new "Cascade Series" - sustainable Northwest woods - the all maple is just lovely. This one w/a Port Orford cedar top is probably what I'd get if/when I decide to get another.

#701, but #498 is nice too. Yes, I have started drinking the Koolaid. Watching Dave Mathews do sweet on a mya-moe in a video doesn't help either. My wife is a huge fan of Dave Matthews.

Tenor Classic with Quilted Maple top back & sides in gloss antique sunburst finish with cutaway and single-sided headstock.

That's my "dream uke" anyway. However, there are a few things on there that Gordon wouldn't do (that isn't a complaint btw, I have enormous respect for him), so I'll just have to settle for a curly Koa top and standard finish.

I want the back of this Uke on the front of a Mya Moe (yes, I know it's tiger stripe, but I'd happily settle for that):

I think you can get all of that except perhaps gloss instead of antique sunburst gloss. Have you asked. May not be a big deal for him vs standard gloss which he has done. Btw like the boat paddle uke.

Cool kayaker Yes, #1000 would be nice. Gets me thinking about Macassar ebony. It will probably be covered in autographs though. I wouldn't mind Dave Mathews signature. It would make my wife happy, but I don't want a ukulele covered in signatures.

he he Linda. I used to own 495. Can't believe I sold it. The first one is Lil Rev's resonator. Fell in love with it the second I saw it. Mya-Moes aren't for everybody, but for what it's worth, Mya-Moe offers an option of a plain headstock in a wood matching the soundboard/body.

I think I have heard that but have not seen many, if any. FWIW There are many great builders/companies that I really dont think I would buy a uke from just cause I am pretty pleased with one of my ukes I own.

Back on track I like 76 (http://www.myamoeukuleles.com/uketracker.php?trackingNumber=76) pretty much cause it is my birthday 7-6, but turns out to be a cool uke.

I poured over the gallery for six months before putting my deposit in. Had to be a cherry reso with a Sitka top and koa bindings at the end of all the lament. Just like Char's reso...that cherry has a life of it's own when it ages. I am fairly certain the prettiest Mya-Moe to me will be 822 when she gets here next week.

I agree re the photos thing Jeff. For some reason their gallery shots NEVER do justice to how their instruments look in person.

If there was one thing they could improve on their incredibly brilliant and comprehensive website, this would be it for me...better gallery shots...something about the lighting is always quite unsympathetic to the uke under the lens...

LOL. I (gordon) shoot the photos with an iPhone 4. Then I FTP them right to the website from the phone. Usually 8 photos/day of finished instruments, plus 28 photos/day from the shop. Our website now has somewhere around 12,000 photos on it, and it is growing by 6,000/year. And, remember it is "just us". So, we are building (first priority), answering emails (maybe 2nd priority), working on the website (our main marketing investment--3rd priority). Not trying to be defensive (i can be defensive without trying, though), just giving you an appreciation for the magnitude of the task. Oh, I should also mention that we have very little room in our house for a photo setup, but since we photo every day, it has to be always setup. So, it's in this little corner of the room where we store our cases!

All that having been said, I couldn't agree more. It would be great to have the photos available in hi-res (we have the FTP program size them to 240x320, for space & upload time considerations), and it would be great to have them in higher quality. And, I suspect because you've said something about it, we will now churn on this until we improve it!

While the photos could use improvement, the weakest part of the website, to us, is the "models" landing page & detail pages, the "pricing/options" page, and the order pages. So, that's what we've been working on. Can't wait to unveil everything--not only complete rehauls of those pages, but a completely new look/feel to the site (without losing what people like, which is the content & organization).

Spring (Reno, Denver) and Fall (Napa, Langley & Eugene) are our busy festival times. It's a shame to go to a festival and not have any instruments, so we do build some ahead of time and save them for the festivals. What's my point? 763 is one of those. Yes, it's sitting here. Given the comments about it and in light of the strong support & following on UU that we are so gracious to have, we will make it available. It is $1550 + shipping ($30 North America; $90 everywhere else)--It is a tenor classic with leaf inlay (+$100) and a custom headplate (+$100). If you'd like it, send me an email.

Over the last few weeks I have been in major lust for a Mya Moe uke. Unfortunately I am between jobs right now; so spending close to two grand on a uke is not in the cards anytime soon. But I have found the one that I want to emulate when I do order.

http://www.myamoeukuleles.com/uketracker.php?trackingNumber=1053

This uke was make by Aaron for his wife Nicole to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. He obviously loves her a lot. The myrtle is stunning, sort of an animal print, but with a white stripe down the middle. The stripe is important because, being environmentally conscious, I wanted to get the Cascade series Port Orford cedar neck, maple fretboard and maple bridge. I would not want all that blond on an instrument that was too dark. It stands out too much. But the blond stripe down the center of the body helps make the Cascade and the body blend together into a unified simple composition.

The Mya Moe people do such nice work.

My question is why do all these little ukuleles these guys sell have strap buttons (and PUs)? Are all their customers pro performers? Looks and seems silly to me. Plus, as a lefty I can't buy a used one w/o the strap button being in the wrong place.

You make a lot of unusual assumptions in your post. Not all MMs have pickups, and I know a lot of people who have had pickups installed in their ukes who are not professionals. Lots of people, including me, prefer to play ukuleles (I play mostly tenors and baritones) with straps, so a strap button is useful. And while MM ukes come with strap buttons, one could ask for an ukulele without them. And I'm pretty sure that if Mya-Moe was building you a left-handed ukulele, they'd put the strap button in the proper place for a leftie.

I am not a Mya Moe owner, but most of my ukes have pickups and a couple have strap buttons. I am about as far from a professional as you can get, but I find it is sometimes easier to play with a strap (definitely when standing up). As for the pickup, it allows me to plug into my iPad for programs like Amplitube. :)

Absolutely...it's the one you own!! (Or the one I just ordered yesterday...!)

Congratulations, Fred! What are your specs? What's your serial number?

I like the Quilted Maple Resonators with the rope binding.

This ukulele is stunning and the owner has even posted a video sound sample. It sounds just as good as it looks.

Strap buttons? Very simple. I lead six uke jams a month. Handing out music, getting and opening books, and a host of other things tie up my hands. A strap keeps my ukes (661, 1051 and 1548) secure. Not silly at all when you love your uke, no matter what the price of the uke.

And, which Mya-Moe ukes do I like the best? Again, simple. Mine!

The best looking May Moe will be the one that I have in my hands in a couple years after a painfully long wait ;)

That said, a close runner-up is #1265 (https://www.myamoeukuleles.com/uketracker.php?trackingNumber=1265). Just gorgeous.

I agree with the statements of "the one you own". Mine is the 959 http://www.myamoeukuleles.com/uketracker.php?trackingNumber=959 Photo's don't do this one justice. Unfortunately we haven't bonded yet. I put her up for sale but am kind of glad no one has the bucks right now. That's probably the only reason she hasn't been snatched up. They do make lovely ukes don't they!

I have to say it's mine #551 Koa temor with Peghed tuners and MiSi pickup. It's the one I bring to Uke festivals and the one I would pick first for any performance. As a classical guitarist this Uke feels and plays very close to the smoothness and resonance of a classical guitar.

Here is an accoustic sample
