Hi all
If you have a smaller number (font) next to a larger one is this called a grace note? It is a 16th note next to an eighth note if it makes any difference.

Can you post a screenshot or something that we can look at? I think it's a grace note, as you said, but there is no set standards for TAB.

it is likely to be an acciaccatura. It is a very short note played before the normal note that follows. In correct notation, and more sophisticated tab, it has a line through the stem of the note.
