Well...I had an hour and a half to kill at lunch today between interviewing candidates for a temp position so I went to the nearby Guitar Center...

I just went to get strings for my acoustic guitar but I had a lot of time to kill... I thunk to myself, "Oh, while I'm here I should pick up some new hot shots for James" (our drummer). Well...to get to the counter where the hot shots were hanging I had to pass one of these...

Yay! I can now add a whole new dimension to the family-annoyance factor!

I have bought one of those tuned box drums like Hardwood Music 20 years ago, they are pretty neat.

I use spaghetti pots and wooden spoons.

I know what you mean. I fell in love with these when I was killin' time at the House of Musical Traditions.

They even have musical furniture!

Yeah...one of those is on my instrument bucket list, too. I want one of the really big ones that you can play with your hands though. That and a really nice Udu or six...then I won't ever have to buy any more instruments

Heh, heh. Several months ago both of my daughters and all their kids were at the house - seven grandkids ranging in age from 2 to about 8. There were also a couple of stray neighborhood kids too. Anyway, they were all marching in a circle around the kitchen island beating on pots, pans, mixing bowls and whatever else they could find. I managed to hang on for ten minutes but after that it was..."okay...I know it's nine million degrees outside...but I think you guys need to go outside for a while..."
