Look what the ukulele stork brought me today:

I wonder what's inside:

I've been waiting six months for this moment:
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-fIMcQclajP4/UFutQqrs9GI/AAAAAAAACb0/6kBN--menhc/s554/DSC_0862.JPG

It is worth every moment of the wait. Gordon, Char, and Aaron do wonderful work. It is flawless and stunning. The picture above doesn't do it justice. The sound is warm, full, and resonant. I've hardly been able to put it down since I got it.

More about it on the Mya-Moe Website:

^^^Keep in mind I have more money than talent, and I don't have a lot of money. Heh!

Not a flattering picture, but it pretty much sums up how I feel about my new Mya-Moe:

Congratulations! That's a beautiful ukulele. I still remember with great fondness the first time I saw and played my Mya-Moe myrtle tenor.

Did you know that your ukulele appears in a Mya-Moe video?

Thank you so much for the kind words and congratulatory messages. I am indeed fortunate to be able to have such a wonderful instrument. Now to go practice so I can actually play the thing.

Yes, I wish I could play half as good as Aaron. I'm going to Uketoberfest next month and I'm planning to take one of his workshops. I'm secretly wishing a smidgeon of his talent will rub off on me by being in the same room with him. Think it'll happen?!!

That is a beautiful uke! Aaron is a heck of a workshop teacher as well. I'm sure some of his talent will rub off on you. It is already in your ukulele. Have fun. The smile on your face in the pic is worth a thousand strums.

If you sit close enough to smell his aftershave, yes, some of his mojo might run into your veins by way of your nasopharynx.

That HomeComing Queen myrtle is a sight to behold. I like your choice very much. If you should ever chose to sell it, don't.

I took a workshop with Aaron at the 2011 Wine Country Ukulele Festival (at which I ordered my first Mya-Moe, a myrtle tenor). I don't know if any of his talent wore off on me, but his enthusiasm for both music and the ukulele sure did. I also began referring to myself as "the other Quiet American (http://www.quietamericanmusic.com/Q/Home.html)." (Just kidding, Aaron.) You'll have a blast!

By the way, I brought my MM myrtle tenor to this year's WCUF and I had a chance to show it to Char and Gordon. Gordon played it a bit and said that they both love to see again the instruments they've sent off, especially to see if they're getting enough love (i.e., playing time). I bet Aaron will love having a brief reunion with your new MM ukulele! He'll probably even play it if you let him. :)

Understand about the excitement - i went to Spain but came home to a Mya Moe Tenor Blue Pond Myrtle Ukelele waiting
to be unwrapped. It's lovely. What is funny is i bought some shoes while in spain and they match the Blue Pond which is
named Blue Moon (she was bought on the Blue Moon day). Am loving each of my Ukeleles equally at this point - who knows
if a front runner will emerge. Am trying to do a few sound tests to see if one stands out for sound quality for syncing with my
voice. Or if one is better for strumming and one for picking. Or if one is better for ease of play. Oh well back to the testing and
more sore fingers. But wouldn't have it any other way. Enjoy your new prize and sure it is being treasured and will bring much
joy. Just wish the Kamaka had a pickup as it's running on a bit of a handicap since it's not able to be plugged in for testing but
it seems that the notes carry a bit more when it's being used without miking versus the Mya Moes.

Thank you. I am having fun with it. When my husband got home late last night he didn't see the case for it, so he had thought I taken it to bed with me. Bwahahaha! I don't quite love it that much. But almost.

mds725, I'd love for Aaron to play it in person for me. I feel a little sad for it because it will never sound that good in my hands. However, I'm not going to let that stop me from playing the heck out of it.

000Kanaka000, sounds like it was meant to be. That blue pond myrtle is lovely. If it weren't a tenor size, I would have been tempted.

* Understood -- my mahogany there is a recorded video with him playing. The Blue Pond though haven't found anything listed.
Am also playing the heck out of it -- am going to have to give a rest though as my blisters are getting blisters at this point.

Schweeeet! And I'm so going to steal that line at some point because it describes me to a "T"!

Congrats - that's a beautiful uke. A Mya Moe is definitely on my Uke bucket list. All I have to do is get rid of enough "stuff" to make room in the budget and office/music room.
