Hi all, hope you are well.

It's time for me to upgrade from the light cases I have to hardshell cases for my Cole Clark UL3A Concert and my Kala Ubass - both ukes that I gig with.

For the concert uke there is lots of choice out there - any recommendations on brands? I am in the UK so preferably something I can source in Europe so as not to get stung with import tax.

Same think with the Ubass - I see Kala have a case on their website, are there alternatives?

Thanks in advance!

Ross

To my knowledge Kala is the only hard case that fits, sorry about that
But, I love the fremont cases like these

but the shipping will kill you I think.
this looks really nice

hard ABS and has 3 latches to keep it nice and closed tightly.

I have a ton of cases. the only other option for gigging would be a fusion bag setup. they are from the UK. and the limited link together to form one case. essentially you can have a double case.

Hey Ukeeku,

Thanks for the info - think I'll just have to bite the bullet and go for the kala case for the bass.

I'm waiting on Cole Clark to get back to me re. Whether they have their own cases - but I do like the ABS one on eBay.

Thanks again!

Ross

I have TGI ABS cases for two of my ukes. They're proper solid and can withstand knocks, drops and even some rain. The only thing to look out for is that their edges when you open them are quite sharp and can cause scratches if you're not careful and happen to knock the uke when taking it out or putting it back in.

Thanks for all the responses, you really are a helpful bunch! O've spoken to a local store who deal kala ukes and they are getting me a price on a ubass case. I'm going to try to suss out who makes cases locally and price that too! Thanks again.

I bought a Stagg tweed case for my KoAloha Pikkake, it was/is complete crap, avoid these cases at all cost

I have the same one for my Kala and not having any problem with it. What is it you don't like about it?

Same here. It's a decent case, and even more so because pineapple shaped cases are impossible to find. What do you find bad about it?
