Bacote question

My friend purchased a piece of Bacote. He wants to cut finger boards and bridges from it. I am not sure if the grain needs to be oriented a certain way for stability. I have taken photos of the wood and numbered them. Please take a look and let me know which side would work best for the face or top of the finger board. Thanks for looking.

Bocote...with two "o" kind of thingies among the vowels. Pretty close to Ziricote in appearance and usage. Can crack if not properly dried and aged. But nice stuff...
