I recently purchased the Applause UAE148 - Acoustic/Electric uke
and i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good amp and string set-up that works well with it thanx

For the amp, what's your budget? Look at Roland and Crate acoustic amps and check music online sites like Musician's Friend for best pricings. As far as strings go, everyone has a personal preference. Some favorites are Aquila, Worth, some like D'Addario and Ko'olau, you're gonna have to see suits you best.

i really like the sound of the aquila strings on my concert so ill give those a try
but as far as the amp nothing over $200 would be my preference

15 watts....may just get you by if you want louder sound.

GO WITH A ROLAND! get the CUBE Roland i know its over your budget brand new but guitar center or sam ash and get it used.

this lil guy gets extremely loud and has a pretty good lil eq with some effects built in. i use my homemade pickup with this guy and it sounds GREAT! well worth the money
