Hey All.. I love to sit down and watch/listen to you tube vidoes of ukuele players while I knit or do other things (like dream of being a great singer and uke player ha ha)
Anyhow, We all know Julia Nunes, and Victoria Vox etc..
But there are greats out there, even among us, that are just not that well known..
That I am glad that I have found.. For example Nicolas Abersold great musican writes original music and makes great videos. Maybe his style isn't for everyone but still he's not that well known, however I really enjoy his music..
So when I search for other talented artists it's hard to find and weed through alll the stuff that comes up on you tube.. so I would love to know, and I am sure others would too, Who are some of your favorite artists on you tube that just don't get the recognition they deserve?
I am hoping to find some new stuff to listen to..
Thanks!

I like this guy a lot...

I was just about to recommend doogey9 too! First saw his videos on Humble Baritonics. My favourites of his are when he slides on a baritone.

Not sure whether some of these are well known or not but I also like Michelle Blades (also found via HB), Lila Burns, tHeDirTyJoHnSon and ootsulele. One of my very favourites is Jake Wildwood but he's well known in these parts of the internet :)

I'm a fan of 'modest' Jon Duncan--aka Eugene Ukulele. Can't leave him off the list.

+1 yep, Jon da bomb. Lots of other good mentions here. Can't leave out WS64 or rawuke or GUGUG; all were "non-professionals" that strongly influenced my decision to buy a ukulele.

THanks for all the suggestions..
I personally subscribe to Dr Bekken, Eugene (Jon), John Bianchi, to me they are just given talent here.. They are our famous ones.. I would never leave them off.. they are favorites that I love to watch along with Krabbers, BaronK, I didn't want to name too many names because I wouldn't want to leave anyone off.. We have incredible talent here..
WHat happened to Al? he hasn't made a video in a long time..

Eugene: totally! Love his videos. But he's one of the most well-know uke youtubers already, isn't he?

Sophie Madeleine, a localish girl, who I suspect is going to break out one of these days and some of us will be able to say, "I remember when..."

Uber famous up-and-coming band, Walk Off the Earth, but not discussed much around here, in spite of the ukulele-ness of much of their work:

Has anyone mentioned Craig Chee???

This thread is a great idea. Discovering new things :)

+ 1 on all these. Nice to see you listening to some good ol Aussie musos Howard!!! Azo Bell is the bees knees and deserves way more recognition. Best Australian uke player without doubt. His band, The Old Spice Boys are INCREDIBLE.
