What's this?

Looks like an Upright bass uke to me.

Whatever it is, it's cool as hell!

yeah, it looks like a beautiful mini upright bass. no frets and radiused fingerboard. also the way the musician is playing it.

if it were a ukulele... wow! I actually have a concert-scale violin-shaped ukulele via Tangi, when he was still in business.

I've used it for gigs and really enjoy it. I fell in love with the shape/concept from the cover picture on Roy Sakuma's chord book.
I was finally able to acquire one from Tangi himself before he had to close shop. He did some frett dressing for me and was able
to find a 'hard' case. It's a concert-scale, but with a soprano body - super soprano? Just what I like as the standard concert body
seems (to me, and maybe just to me) to be a bit large. I'm heavy-set (oh my how weird to see that in print!) so my body could
frame a concert or tenor, but a soprano just feels 'right' to me :)

My regular, go-to uke is the Kala Soprano Travel uke! go figure:)

keep uke'in',
