I picked up a 1930's-40's era Favilla soprano yesterday and it has Aquillas on it, which I have never been a fan of. Can anyone suggest what strings seem to pair well with a Favilla soprano? It's solid mahogany, similar to an old Martin style 0.

Thanks!

I tried Worth CMs, but they ended up being a distant second to Southcoasts mediums.

Give Dirk a shout -- he'll get you the sound you want.

Congrats -- those are cool ukes.

I'd try out a set of Martin 600's. Sound great on vintage mahogany & or even koa. I have them on all of my vintage ukes. Aquila are just too much for that mellow aged wood, IMO.

I agree. I have never been a fan f any Aquilla strings. Worth clears worked great on my koa KoAloha concert, and Worth browns were perfect for my mahogany Ohana. Tried Martins on both the KoALoha and Ohana and didnt like the rubbery feel!
