View Full Version : I can't play ukulele today...

Nickie

Last night I woke up on my bathroom floor, spitting pieces of a tooth out. I had fainted. I have a chipped tooth, very sore knee and foot, three bruised fingers and a thumb, and a headache. Ouch! The medical team in the ER last night could find nothing wrong with me. Good! But my balance is in question (not mentally, you silly) so it's back to Tai Chi classes for me! And a follow up with my Dr, of course...
I had to cancel my piano lesson today... as soon as I can, I'll have that little uke out, strumming and smiling again! I'll never quit!

Among other things, that's a sign of renal kidney failure. Tough to detect without intense bloodwork. I hope it's something simpler, Nickie. Wishing you better feelings and a speedy recovery. Ric

Chipped teeth are easy to fix nowadays, but the collapsing.. Jeez that's the second UUer doing the collapsing thing. I guess you know to get checked out. I think regardless, you earned a bit of a vacation. If you need a written excuse, just tell them UU said to rest! :)

Oh, I just wanted to add my well wishes. Having collapsed about four times in the last few weeks, twice of which ended with blue flashing lights and a fractured pelvis, I want to send you some *hugs* and say that I really hope they find out what's the cause of your collapses. I hate that I also can't play my Ukes right now, so I'll join you in Ukeless solitary!

Feel free to PM me if you need someone to talk to about it all!

Joey :music: <--- there, we can both play this Uke!

Nickie, I'm sorry you've had such an unwanted surprise. (I seem to recall you had a concussion not too long ago, too.) I hope the cause is discovered soon and treatment is effective.
And send some wishes to the tooth fairy.

Take care of yourself, Nickie. Waking up injured and wondering what happened has to be pretty scary. I hope it's nothing serious and they can get it sorted out quickly.

I had a similar problem and it was diagnosed as down to a massive unsuspected build up of cholesterol (I'm a vegetarian ). My Aunt had similar symptoms and that was diagnosed as a problem with the inner ear. Go figure. Whatever it is, hope you get better soon.
