It's taken me a while to knock this out but tonight I finished my side bender. (the biggest setback was not having a band-saw, as of this point I'm supposed to take delivery tomorrow.)
So I ended up using a jig saw to cut all the patterns, sanding to shape, and flush trim routing the subsequent pieces. Not as sharp as I'd like but I was impatient.
I installed two candy thermometers in the form. The bulb method is not really going to get up to temp from my first test. I"ll be trying another setup of higher wattage bulbs to see where that gets me. I already see a mat in future.
So as soon as my saw comes (and gets setup) I can mill my test lumber and get a start! Happy day.
