This is a video of a broken armadillo shell mandolin I had that has been rehabilitated into a concert ukulele. It includes a demonstration of the uke, with me playing a song I wrote in 1978 when I was 17 called "Armadillos in the Rain." The armadillo shell has a surprising amount of resonance, like a Fluke.
 
I didn't think to turn the uke over in the video so you could see the back -- the armadillo shell. So here's a photo of the back:

Oh that is so cool uke4ia! A unique instrument with a unique sound. And your armadillo song is quite good.
