That was awesome to see! TV director sucked - missed seeso's solo altogether.

But what fun to see them all together! Well done - it sounded great!!!:worship::worship:

11-22-2008, 03:23 PM

Wierd bit of timing, hit the forums for the first time in hours, clicked on this thread, clicked on the live performance link and Julia Nunes was next on the list.

It was over to fast but I am glad for anything that shows the Uke as an instrument as oposed to a novelty.

Here's the clip...

What's up with that announcer? I did not care at all for the way he said "..one of youtubes most popular accessories, the ukulele?,.." and check out his facial espression, like he threw up in his mouth a little bit...

Awesome performance guys, even if the announcer is was a %*$#&(%!

11-22-2008, 08:26 PM
Yeah I realy enjoyed their performance as well and definately agree that whoever was incharge of sound should have bump up the level on seeso's solo. That aside it was awesome. Congrats to the fellas for their great performance.

Was I the only one to notice seeso's pickup cable or whatever fallout? haha. That was awsome though I wish they would have played another one.

I saw that in the beginning, I was wondering what Seeso until I realized his cable fell out.

Unfortunately, I missed all but Akon's performance. But I did go back and watch the uke orchestra. It was pretty sweet.

so rad- just an awesome performance. :)

11-23-2008, 08:00 AM
I was mostly watching the backstage cam where you could see lots of people stood around looking confused and you could hear the sound of YouTubes most popular accessory. :music:

That was just awesome! My daughter and I are proud to say that we got to perform with Julia, Seeso, Dustin and Philip at the Bushman Ukulele Luau earlier this year. They are all great people and talented performers and it's wonderful to see them (and the ukulele) get this recognition.

I was there in the audience!

I actually got to meet Dustin, Ciso, and Phil in person! Plus like EVERYONE else who's big on YouTube.

It was such a blast. Everyone was just chillin'. It's so unreal seeing everyone in person and not on camera. Everyone was so nice!

11-23-2008, 06:55 PM
missed the whole thing.. WTF!

11-24-2008, 04:58 AM
Congrats to Seeso, Dustin, and Phillip! That must have been an epic experience!

Great job y'all!!! Next time they should get Aaron to film and produce, Rayan to script, and Aldrine to mc :D

11-24-2008, 08:53 AM
What a great performance! Thanks for putting the link to it in here also and making it easier for those of us a little late on the uptake.

11-24-2008, 11:40 AM
i saw it, JN kicked but, so did all of our guys. I like that song:D

11-24-2008, 12:09 PM

I had such a blast at the event! I'm so honored to have been able to play and be a part of something this cool. I'm also glad Seeso had that UU sticker on his ukulele! Hopefully people will notice and head this way, haha.

It's really cool to know you guys watched and enjoyed it. I just got home a few hours ago and am still feeling the excitement. =)

Will you still let us hang out in your hotel room if we are ever in Nashville again? (Nashville, INDIANA...that is) ;)

haha, just saw the latest video of Corey Williams (SMP films)... He filmed himself while the Ukechestra performed: Mr. Safety (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdwXBFMrMXY)

well, as he says, doesn't seem to be his taste, what a pity...

the guy that introduced them sounded like he couldnt believe it. "one of youtubes most popular accessories, the "yookoolaylee?" julia nunes etc. etc"

11-24-2008, 10:33 PM
I was there, and sadly enough, I managed to meet Julia, Wade, and Abby, but not the UU guys. I totally couldn't find them anywhere except on stage. Although I must say that meeting Julia, Wade, and Abby was fun too, even though Abby was really sick

So... who's the fourth guy?

And... did the MC pronounce JN's last name correctly? I've never heard it spoken, just read it, and I always have given it the Hispanic "noon-yez" pronunciation.

11-27-2008, 11:07 AM
I always pronounced it "new-nez," but I honestly have no idea.

11-27-2008, 11:46 AM
It sounds like noons. But Wade is a guy who did a cover of Julia's song Regrets and she liked it.

just found this video of a backstage performance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wqcjsXHiA8)...

think it's quite nice...

I watched some of the rest of YT live and I have to say that a lot of it didn't work out well on stage as some of the people didn't, but well, think those people never thought they'd become popular and would perform on a stage. and I really couldn't stand those moderators, tay zonday had to struggle to read his texts and that fashion blog guy (who announced the Ukechestra) really mad me sick...

but the Ukes were my highlight, whenever i spotted them I was like :D

12-14-2008, 09:25 AM
Wade Johnston posted a whole lot of video footage from the YT live thingy... on the last one was a closer look onto Seeso's solo during the performance: Click here! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hSkgzhIB9I)

Also, if you watch IV.5...you can see Phillip do a version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Phillip also posted up a video with him and beardyman..which is pretty awesome.

yep, you're right, forgot to mention those. it's just awesome to watch all those guys having a whole lot of fun over there. plus the Ukulele and Capoeira players actually were the only people I really enjoyed (o, and those break dancers were sweet)
