What is the Ukulele World Congress?

I saw a couple of post saying something about a Ukulele World Congress.
What is this? Is this an assembly of ukers figuring out the worlds Uke problem?;)
 
Mainland Mike hosts a party in a field. It's awesome. You should come.
 
It's held the first weekend of June every year. It usually starts about Tuesday and goes to Tuesday. This is the 5th year.

No matter what happens in my life, you will find me there every June. If for some reason I'm not there, you can assume I'm dead.

Yes, it's THAT good.
 
First weekend in June...but starting the last day of May this year.

I missed it last year due to family obligations. And I cried. I am not kidding. It's that good.
 
My biggest barrier the first year was the lack of details. I kept trying to find the registration forms and find out how much it cost. I nearly didn't go. Ukeeku's primer gets it perfectly - you just show up with a uke. Bring whatever you think you need to survive in a field for a weekend - food, tent, change of clothes, a loved one. It is a great time.
