Does anyone know what make and model the Slotted Peghead Tuners are on Jake Shimabukuro's Kamaka? ( They are black with gold open faced gears.)
Thanks,
Bill Higgs

I once read somewhere that the tuners on his uke are Gilbert tuners. But I have no idea how accurate that is.

There's no reason to post the same question in two different sections, merging them as one.

I just spoke with Bryan this weekend, and those are some nice tuning machines - very accurate.

Looks like I'll be ordering a set for my next `ukulele. Of course, my wife is going to freak out when she finds out that I spent $200 on a set of tuning machines. . .

Aaron, the barrels on those tuners appear to be the same size as that of classical guitars. They are larger than the Waverley's and the Grover's that are typically used on ukes. Do you know what the diameter of the barrel is?

The recommended drill bit for the rollers is slightly large at 13/32" (what an odd size).

However, they make an `ukulele tuner, but I gotta see if the specs are the same - maybe the buttons are just smaller?
