Had three days in O'ahu. Was able to fit in two tours. Joe at Kanile'a was awesome, spent two hours with us! Very nice of Fred Kamaka Sr. to give a a great tour at Kamaka. Two very different brands. Both done extremely well.

I had breakfast at the Denny's in Waikiki a couple of mornings and got friendly with the waitress. Our last day, she asked what we saw, what we did, etc. I told her about ukulele shop touring. She said, "Oh I wish I had known, I would have sent you to my brother Joe-boy's shop."
Great, I thought. Joe-Boy's Ukuleles. Imagine what that looks like.
Turns out the waitress is Kanilea Joe's older sister. I saw him at NAMM a few weeks later and shared a good laugh at the story.
