JOKE UKULELE ART. I've come across the website of a French illustrator, Rémy le Goistre, who has a particular interest in the ukulele. One large section of his site is about chording, but I wanted to point out to you his "Musée du Ukulélé." Here he has created a collection of images of art through the ages---had the artists been ukers.

My favourite artist is John Singer Sargent.

A little Photoshopping and Madame X never looked better.

Here's another one. This is fun! We should compile 12 of these photoshopped images and make a calendar. Here's my second entry...Dr. Pozzi. When we wasn't fingering his female patients, he was fingering his uke!

Gillian, your two artworks are great! Please do more of them for this thread!
And challenge yourself to do some not in representational style. For example, if Marcel Duchamp's Nude Descending a Staircase had a uke with her, what would it look like?

I've got lots of ideas! For instance, I think the pointillistic, stiff folks on Seurat's "Island of the Grand Jatte" could do with a few ukes in their hands....or maybe add a ukulele floating in the clouds above Magritte's bowler hat...a melting uke instead of Dali's melting watch!
