SAM_0589.jpgSAM_0590.jpgDear Everone ,

I just purchased a Tanglewood soprano .
It looks and feels great , not too enthusiastic about the sound though , it seems too bright , maybe even a bit harsh with the new Aquila strings .

However , the one thing that more irritating is the way the tuners stick out from the headstock , way too much .
I tried to pull the buttons off to see if I can cut the shaft shorter but they do not seem to budge .
Anyone familiar with this type of tuners ?
It would be better if I can shorten the shaft by a few mm each side .

I like geared tuners, but I don't like them sticking out the side. Without knowing how the grips are added to the shaft, it might be a good idea to contact the maker or the store where you got it and ask how the buttons secure to the shaft before you try to remove them.

Plan B is really my Plan A. I take them off and replace them with PEGHEDS All four of them only weigh an ounce. see www.pegheds.net to see what is available
