This is a very special and rare ukulele for sale. I would love to hold on to this, but unfortunately I need the money. I bought this used direct from Peter Hurney back in June of this year.

Here is a link to the uke on the Pohaku website:

http://www.pohakuukulele.com/pages/boldwhite.html

This is a beautiful looking and sounding uke with Peter's unique concert design and arched back. This ukulele is also featured in the book: Learn to Play the Ukulele, published by Fox Chapel Publishers. http://www.foxchapelpublishing.com/product_p/6875.htm

Specs:

Concert size with 15 inch scale length
Big Island Koa body
Mahogany neck
Maple binding, bridge, mustache, peg-head inlay, rosette, and fret-markers
Rosewood fingerboard
Peghed 4:1 tuners
15 frets total
Lacquer finish
Ebony nut/bone saddle

The original ebony saddle was replaced by Peter at my request with a bone one. I will include the ebony saddle inside the case pocket. The uke currently has Aquila strings.

There are strum marks on the face under the fretboard and near the soundhole. Four issues that were on the uke when I bought it are as follows: 1) Finish mar on the lower bottom bout. It could be refinished, but I never got around to having it done. 2) A mark on the back under the heel cap, as if someone was about to put a strap pin there but didn't end up doing it. Again this could probably be touched up with a lacquer refinish. 3) Small impression/ding on the top above the bridge on the G string side. 4) Finish issue on the back side of the headstock on the G string tuner. Seems as if the lacquer chipped (?). It apparently was there when the uke was brand new if you look at the link above from the Pohaku website. These issues are purely cosmetic and do not affect play at all. Please review the following photos.

I have a couple of YouTube samples of this uke:

We would buy this in a heartbeat if we weren't expecting our custom concert Pohaku in the next couple months.

Peter makes great ukes. These do not show up in the marketplace very often, so if you're considering it, don't wait too long.
