Been hanging around UU for a few months now, but thought I'd finally post here.

I've been playing ukulele for about a year now, completely self-taught. I have a soprano, but lately I've been thinking about getting a better quality concert-sized uke (~$200 budget, if anyone has suggestions).

I always wanted to play the guitar, but my hands are very small and can only span two frets. So I tried the ukulele instead and now I'll never go back!

You can check with Uke Republic, Mim's, Mainland or HMS to see if they have any deals; there have been a lot of nice concerts, (some of them seconds) in your price range lately.

For brands, I'd check out Ohana and Mainland or, if you're lucky, Pono. A lot of folks like Kala, too, and the new Islanders.

And if you just want to drool for a while, check out the Music Emporium in Lexington.

Hi, alemarco! :)

I'd suggest keeping an eye on the Marketplaces both here and at Flea Market Music, as well as your local Craigslist. You'll get more bang for your buck buying used, it just may take you longer to find something you're interested in.
