Take Five is one of my most FAVOURITE EVER pieces of music. My sister, her partner & I played it on uke last xmas & will repeat it again this year, when they visit me again.

One of the things I admire most about Brubeck was his refusal to be pigeonholed into a genre. He played what he thought was good and let the rest of us decide whether we liked it or not. Some of us liked it very, very much.

We can each only pray for lives like Dave's: a wildly successful career, a beautiful family life, and the ability and drive to continue following his passion until the very end of a very long life. Godspeed, Mr. Brubeck-- truly a life well-lived.
