Can someone explain the basics of the Slack Key style? Or some resources for learning it?

I'm not from hawaii so I'm unfamiliar with it :D

I wrote a short overview on slack key 'ukulele at: http://liveukulele.com/lessons/slack-key-ukulele/

Get Ledward Kaapana and Bob Brozman's concert DVD (if you live in Hawaii you can get it from the library system) and watch the song L&D Slack Key.

Slack key is basically tuning the guitar to an open chord. The most common tuning is an Open G tuning, also called Taro Patch Tuning, where if you strum the guitar without holding any strings, it's a G chord.

It makes picking in scale a lot easier.
