Although not delta blues, here are a few that I've done that use 12 bar progressions, some with 8 bar bridges.

Here's an original song of mine, The Fallen Blues.

Blues is more an attitude rather than a chord structure,

I have to agree.

This is the second video I ever loaded on YouTube:

It's a Disney song.

Hey guys, seriously loving your blues stuff! Keep it up!
And yeah I agree blues is an attitude, but the 12-bar blues is a time tested favourite. All is good!

Enjoyed listening. Is there a formula for the blues? Something it needs to have to make it blues? (Besides soul)

Here's a link to the wikipedia article, the first paragraph sums it up pretty well.

Blues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues)

Here's one I recently did for season 47. It's pretty much a 12 bar blues, with some jazzy 9th and minor 7th substitutions.

It's interesting to see so many different ways of playing the Blues on a uke here.

This is me with my Eleuke in a musik pub playing a Bluesrock Improvisation:

I put a Blues tutorial ( 5 easy licks with videos, tabs and playalong ) on my blog:

Wow I love this guy! Thanks so much! I thought I'd heard all the Blues Greats, and Rabbit Muse is up there with them! Darkness on the Delta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8caDIplsAg) is brilliant! (on Youtube too). I just added that one to my repertory. It's got such a great feeling of its "era".

The 11th Season of the Ukulele over in the contests forum was a 12 bar blues contest.
Here's the complete playlist for the week. (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL725036DDEB3CB4C9) Some good blues in there.

And here's my entry for it.

I love those two animations. Presuming they are your creations, how do you do that? Was it all stop-start animation, or do you have a programme for animating images? I love how the Penguin taps his foot in time (in Penguin Curry). I can't begin to imagine the work that went into just doing that sequence!

Not exactly a 12 Bar Blues. But here's a song I just wrote today that is based on Blues riffs and Blues changes.

BTW I am shirtless because this was an entry for the "I Need a T-Shirt" Competition.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gZM88-f-hE&feature=youtube_gdata

Lyrics:

Mandy (Take the shirt right off your back)

Mandy sheís the type íd take the shirt right off your back.
Never been known to cut a poor boy any slack.
Always claims she knows exactly what she wants,
She can cut through your natural immune response.
See the sharks all casting lots,
To let her tie them up in knots.
Donít know many guys who've been there more than once.

Mandy, donít run with no wolf pack,
Mandy, take the shirt right off your back!

She will take your card, but she never hands out her phone.
They say she got a place on the edge of the combat zone.
Not the kind to hang around by the light of day,
This tigress prowls the night like some act in a Cabaret.
She donít make it lying on her back,
Though there were rumours about selling crack.
But nothing ever stuck that could have put her away.

Mandy, a walking heart attack,
Mandy, take the shirt right off your back.

She drifted in one night like a feather blown on the wind,
With a smile that told you this was a woman kept both eyes skinned.
Sheís not the kind to reveal much about her history
No oneís gotten close to unravelling the mystery.
Donít get in deep because you havenít a prayer,
One day sheíll be a puff of smoke in thin air.
And hers will be the sweeter victory.

Mandy, keeps off the beaten track.
Mandy, take the shirt right off your back.

I thought Darkness on the Delta was a super song, but I also thought it was missing a verse (didn't know about the "classic" sounding 20s intro linked to above).

Anyway, here is my second verse for the song:

When it's darkness on the delta, you can hear those banjos play.
That's the way folk on the delta greet the ending of another working day.
There'll be sing-songs in the parlor, there'll be laughter there'll be booze,
Guitars and ukuleles playing ragtime and playing blues.

Laughter on the levee, etc..
