I was just listening to Me an Shirley and at the beginning Jakes says the song is about having too many Shirley Ts. Just wondered what it was.

Shirley Temples. It's a kiddie cocktail. He drank too many and got over-sugared.

Shirley Temple? (non-alcoholic "cocktail" made with ginger ale)

That's the only meaning I know of but I'm not sure how one could have too many since they aren't intoxicating.

Of course, I'm an old dude and never have been hip so to these youngsters a Shirley T might be something else entirely... LOL

Laverne?

I attended the Shirley Temple years ago.

Now I go to the Church of Fonzie.

:eek:ld:

I don't think she ever drank one in a movie, but it was invented during the '30's as a kiddie cocktail and named for an actor who would be known to kids. If a boy ordered one, they called it a Roy Rogers. When I was waiting tables in the 80's they also called them a Luke Skywalker.

I thought the Roy Rogers was made with Coke, rather than ginger ale.

I'm doing everything I can...and stop calling me Shirley!
