Think of buying a $250 uke + $50 shipping from Mim on ebay.

I'm just wondering if you guys know how much (if any) import duties and taxes I'll have to pay on top.

Thanks

You shouldn't worry about that. I had roughly the same value purchase from Mike at Uke Republic a couple years ago with nothing taxed and we're always ordering from the US and other things sent from family over there. I think it has to be a really significant amount before any duty or tax is called for.

Nothing payable Indiecat, unless your purchase exceeds $1000. I've had lots of ukes sent my way from overseas and this is the law as it currently stands. A couple of times I've been fortunate and my ukes slipped through the net.

If it's just a little over a grand, then the amount payable is fairly minimal, but when you start getting things 1500+ it can get up there. A couple of ukes I bought near $2000 I had to cough up around 300 bucks.
