Hey guys,

So I've decided on buying a Mainland Red Cedar Concert uke and I have heard that the Aquilas they come with aren't very good (on this particular uke anyway).

I looked and what I've come up with are three different strings to replace the Aquilas.

-Worth (Clear or Brown)
-Martin m600
-Fremont Blacklines

Which one do you think is best for this uke or could recommend any others?

Don't discount the Aquila strings before you've played your uke. Play them for a month or so. See if they sound and feel good to you.

If the Aquila strings don't work out, Worth, Martin, and Fremont are all high-quality fluorocarbon strings---any of the three should work well.

I just bought a set of Living Waters string from Ken Middleton. I'm not a big fan of fluros and prefer the higher tension of a wound 3&4 string. But these are really a nice, clear well rounded string set.

I've had them on a week and they are sounding better and better. Will keep them on for a while longer and will go back to the Linear Southcoast round wounds. But may keep the L/W's on my bari.
