I just ordered a new GoldtoneTenor banjole. It will come tuned DGBE
I want to change it to GCAE tuning.
THREE questions:
Would tenor banjole use the same stings as a tenor Uke? ( I think my question is will my banjolele use standard uke stings??)

Do I need to change any of the string to get the to standard GCAE tuning

I have Kanile'a Tenor. I am concidering putting in a L R Braggs 5 0 pick up in it
any thoughts on this pick up

I am an intermediate player, a hobbiest, not proffessional,

Thank
Chuck

GoldTone recommends Aquila Tenor Banjo Uke strings.

When I was shopping for my banjo uke I emailed Wayne Rogers (owner of Goldtone) about this. He said the tenor could be tuned to gCEA tuning with the right strings but warned that there would be a higher possibility of breaking string. Not sure why that would be. Anyway I decided to get the concert size instead. My ukes are all tenor but I hardly notice the difference when I pick up the concert size banjo uke.

BTW, I just use standard uke strings on my banjo uke (Aquila concert size)
If it were me, I would try a set of standard tenor strings for gCEA tuning and see if it works.
If you do this let us know if/how it works.
