FS Sonny Daze Cigar Box Ukulele Soprano ** SOLD**
For sale is a nice example of a Sonny Daze Cigar box ukulele by Russ Sonny Kemner. This one was built in December 2009. It is a soprano 13-5/8-inch scale. Made from a Boite Nature Corona size cigar box of all solid wood with dove tail joints, the uke has an overall length of 23-inches. Cigar Box dimensions are 8.75-inch x 6.37-inch x 2.75-inch. The neck is solid curly maple and also serves as the fretboard. Neck width is 1.5-inches with nice rosewood fretmarkers and rosewood nut. The bridge is also some type of rosewood or tropical hardwood and the floating saddle is rosewood and ebony (I added the ebony to the saddle bottom for proper action, looks good too). The headplate is also curly maple and the uke has Grover geared tuners. The uke is in very good condition, no issues. Only the cigar box looks vintage, because it is.
Uke comes with a heavy duty custom shipping case (see pic).
This really is a good playable ukulele with very good intonation. It has that great CBU sound and is loud too. I’m thinning my collection of ukes.
