A little FYI . . . This mele is synonymous with everyone born and raised in Hawai`i Nei. This mele was written by Rev. Lorenzo Lyons and based on an old hymn "I Left It All With Jesus". The mele is usually sung by everyone in attendance at formal or informal get togethers such as concerts and luau's. Everyone stands and hold hands and the last chorus is sung with hands raised above their heads. This is a sign of unity among the people of the 50th State. There are three verses but the latter two are rarely sung.
BTW, Much Mahalos for your beautiful arrangement and playing. Born and raised in the 50th, the mele has deeper meaning when sung and the lyrics convey our feeling about Hawai`i Nei, our beloved state.
Hawai`i Aloha
