Here's my friend Alan Drogin playing lead, me backing him with rhythm and taking the vocal on the Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields 1928 tune - "I Can't Give You Anything But Love". This recorded at NYC's Ukulele Cabaret on December 21st. I often think Alan sounds like Django Rhinehardt...you be the judge. :)

Well done!

Thank you, Campbell. I'm really glad you liked this, as it was completely off the cuff and the edges were a little rough. :)

Thank you, uke552!

A.MAZ.ING. Both of you. Alan's playing is truly incredible. And John, your vocal and phrasing in that song is of the highest order. Bravo fellas, would have loved to have been there to see it first hand.

Thanks, Steffen! Yes, I came to the same conclusion about the vibrato - it makes a big difference. I've got friends who play guitar who can get Django's runs down, but don't sound like him and that's what's missing.

Thank you, Jon! IT was a fun night - you watch live stuff and go - "oh, shouldn'ta done that there." - so I'm glad you like it! :D
