Here's the Ultra Cheapo Baritone Ukulele Consumer Guide.
The video contains sound samples of three of the cheapest baritones available.
The Rogue is THE cheapest, and not a bad deal, if you're lucky enough to get a decent one, as I was.
The Savannah has the least issues straight from the box; mine needed NO extra set up work whatsoever, possibly a rare thing...
The Johnson, a mahogany laminate, has the best sound, but a horrible amount of issues concerning bad fret dressing, bad intonation, action problems....well, you name it. It's playable though, after some tweaking.
