I never knew who Kalapana was until long after Mackey passed but for some reason I get a little choked up when I hear a couple songs. One of my favorite vocalists silenced too soon.

Thanks, Bill! Kalapana has been a popular group in Hawaii since the mid-70's. Tragically, one of the lead singers, Mackey Feary, had a drug problem and committed suicide while in prison. He was talented, had a special voice, and was a terrific songwriter.

Great job with the songs! I am new to this site, but remember Kalapana. Did not know that is what happened to Mackey. I saw them in high school here in LA when they were debuting their second album.
If you have a link to a site where I can find tabs ( guitar or uke ) it would be greatly appreciated.
