Hi! I've been reading posts here for awhile and decided to finally come out of hiding. I got my first ukulele in July (a Lanikai LU-22). I had just had my sixth baby, my husband had to leave town for almost a week, and I decided I needed some happy in my life. So my intro to the ukulele came via some sort of postpartum mid-life crisis. ;) I started taking lessons around Thanksgiving, and I just got my "big girl" uke this week (a classic mahogany Mainland tenor). I played piano and trumpet as a kid, but this is my first strummed instrument. So far, I'm in love (especially now that I have such a great uke).

Welcome to the best uke site! You should give lessons on where to find "spare" time - hah hah hah. The mahogany Mainland tenor is great, I know you'll enjoy it for years to come.

Greetings an welcome. Glad you found the time to join us. A regular "respite" for ukers.
