Banjo fret wire for Tenor Uke?

Is the fret wire used for banjos too tall or thick for a tenor Uke?

My current choices are banjo wire with a width of .080 and a crown of .040 or mandolin wire that is .053 wide with a crown of .037. I don't have my current fret wire sizes with me but they fall in between these in width. Also, will changing the width change the intonation of the instrument?

There is no standard for banjo ukes and many different sizes have been used. The banjo wire I use for Tenor ukes is a banjo wire sold through StewMac.com.

It's personal preference. It probably looks better perspective-wise to most people to have thinner fretwire on a smaller instrument. Personally, I prefer mandolin fretwire on ukes, but I also prefer that size on anything.
